Bernhard Baron Cottage Homes
I had the pleasure of designing a Peace Garden in a section of the grounds at a very attractive residential care home. I worked with the residents and management to help them achieve a place for residents to sit under a beautiful trio of existing pine trees. A circular path of self-binding gravel invites visitors into a secluded, quiet space, with flowers, water feature and sculpture. Once the surrounding bamboo is more mature it will create a sense of enclosure. There is a celebration of perennial woodland plants, some acers, tree ferns, witch hazel, cornus, holly and many foxgloves. In time, a rambling rose and jasmine will clothe the pergola where it catches the afternoon sun. The garden was built in autumn 2016 with the help of Moss Landscapes and opened officially in June 2017. With photo updates 2022.
