I spent some time doing a design for a long border in St Leonards. The client worked hard on weeding the garden. Myself and my assistant prepared the soil, planted, and mulched in spring 2020. These are photos of its first and second summers. Shrubs include : David Austin roses, cotinus, cercis, physocarpus. Perennials include: achellias, centaurea Jordy, astrantias, hardy geraniums, erigeron quakeress, erigeron karvinskianus, cirsiums, campanula, digitalis, valeriana officinalis, thalictrum, salvias, ox-eye daisies, verbena bonariensis, and we sowed some annuals including poppies (Pap. somniferum), nigella, mauve cornflowers and planted cosmos.
